Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about custom 3D printing at Chatelet Manufacturing. Can't find yours? Contact us or get an instant quote.

How much does custom 3D printing cost?

Pricing is per part: material volume, print time, and a $5 setup fee. Upload your file to our instant quote tool for an exact price in seconds — volume discounts apply automatically, and there are no tooling costs. Typical production parts run 50–90% less than machining.

What file formats do you accept?

STL or OBJ for instant pricing and checkout; we also accept STEP, STP, and 3MF files up to 100MB. No CAD file? Our design team can model your part from drawings, sketches, or a physical sample.

How fast will I get my parts?

Standard orders typically ship in 7–10 business days and rush orders in 2–3 business days, depending on order volume and part geometry. Production runs deliver in 1–4 weeks depending on quantity. Florida shipments arrive in 1–2 days.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. We print single prototypes and production runs of 10,000+ units with the same process — order exactly what you need.

What materials and processes do you offer?

20+ engineering-grade materials across FDM and SLA: nylon, ASA, ABS, PETG, TPU, polycarbonate, and reinforced composites like carbon fiber nylon (PA-CF) and glass-filled nylon. We also offer SLS, injection molding, and CNC machining, and match the process to your part.

Can you take a product from prototype to production?

Yes — that's our specialty. Design and DFM support, rapid prototyping, then short-run and full production without retooling. Our Entrepreneur Launch Program covers concept to fulfillment.

Where are you located and where do you ship?

We manufacture in Orlando, Florida and ship across the United States. Local pickup is available for Orlando-area businesses.

How much can I save versus machining or injection molding?

Clients typically save 50–90% versus machining on suitable parts, and avoid $10,000+ mold costs for runs under ~5,000 units. Recent example: an outdoor mounting component went from five machining operations to direct ASA printing at ~60% savings.
