Start from the failure mode: UV exposure → ASA; chemical contact → nylon; flexibility → TPU; high heat or impact → polycarbonate; maximum stiffness-to-weight → carbon fiber nylon. Material selection guidance is included with every quote — upload your file and tell us the operating environment.
FDM thermoplastics are production-grade engineering materials for functional parts. SLA resins deliver finer detail and smoother surfaces for visual prototypes, patterns, and tight-tolerance small parts. We run both and match the process to the part.
Composites like carbon fiber nylon cost more per gram than standard polymers, but on stiffness-critical parts they frequently replace machined metal — making the total part cost 50–90% lower than the metal alternative.
Often the same family — molded PA-GF maps to printed glass filled nylon, molded ABS maps to printed ABS or ASA, machined aluminum often maps to carbon fiber nylon. Send the target spec and we'll recommend the closest production material, datasheets on request.
